Loreto Federation 2018
‘Be the Change!’
The 30th Gathering of Loreto Federation on 18-20 May was a wonderfully engaging weekend embracing the tradition of Mary Ward and maintaining the link between our schools, ex-students, current parents, families and friends and the work of the Loreto Sisters.
The weekend began with the beautiful Opening Liturgy and Cocktail Party on Friday evening with both events setting a wonderful atmosphere of togetherness and joy for the weekend. We welcomed Sr Wendy Hildebrand IBVM, Loreto Australia and South East Asia Province Leader, to officially open Federation 2018.
The sessions over the weekend were thought-provoking and challenging and allowed for reflection on how to implement the practical ideas presented. The carefully curated and engaging program maximised our interest and involvement and included hands-on and intimate breakout sessions and the broad range of challenging and inspirational speakers each brought their unique perspectives to the theme ‘Be the Change’.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the Federation Dinner at Doltone House on Saturday night with fine food, entertainment, raffle prizes and, of course, wonderful company while raising much-needed funds for Loreto Rumbek. The Celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday was a wonderful way to come together on the final day of Federation. The spirit of justice and joy was in abundance over the weekend and all events contributed to helping us recognise and respond to the issues of today, now and into the future.
Special thanks and congratulations to the Federation Committee, particularly the Federation Co-Presidents, Ms Penny Graham and Ms Jane Parker.
Please enjoy the photo gallery of the weekend.
