National Boarding Week 2020
National Boarding Week ran this year from 22 – 28 May 2020, just in time for the return of our boarders to school after a period of learning from home.
National Boarding Week is a annual event acknowledging the unique experience of being a boarder. We had to re-imagine some of our boarding events under the current circumstances, but nevertheless managed to celebrate with spirit what it means to be a Normo Pink Lady. A boarding school since its foundation in 1897, Loreto Normanhurst is proud of its boarding history and of the many girls who have lived here over the past 123 years.
National Boarding Week events were led by the Boarder Council and Boarder Representative Council. They included the annual Pink Lady Fun Run, a movie night, a game of Family Feud over Zoom and mindfulness activities. In recognition of our place in a wider community, our boarders also started knitting squares for the Wrapped with Love initiative.
We also heard from several of our boarding families about their experiences at home and in the boarding school. Click HERE to read ‘Behind the Boarder,’ which featured in our school newsletter on 22 May.
We invite you to share some memories of our 123 years of boarding history with the following video.
