Class of 2007
“On Saturday 11 November 2017, the Class of 2007 got together at The Oaks Hotel in Neutral Bay for our ten year reunion. It was a wonderful night and great to reconnect and reminisce with so many of our former classmates.
Fond memories were shared, lots of laughs were had, and many plans were made to catch up more often. So many of the group are pursuing their dreams in their careers, family and personal lives, and it was wonderful to share in everyone’s success.
It was an absolute pleasure to help host the event. Already looking forward to 2027!”
Ms Amy Woods – Class of 2007
We held our “Reconnecting Night” earlier this year at the Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney for ex-students who graduated between 1995 to 2017 to socialise in an informal environment and reconnect with each other.
Loreto Canberra Luncheon and AGM
The Loreto Canberra Luncheon is organised by Jenny Dobbin (‘72) and comprises a group of many ex-students from Loreto schools around Australia.
“What a wonderful Loreto gathering we had in March and thank you all so much for coming! Whilst I definitely think we need a bit of work on the choral rendition of our old Loreto favourites, the day was such great fun! We enjoyed a beautiful mass generously shared by Father L’Estrange at Xavier House followed by a delicious lunch at Muse, Kingston, which turned out to be a perfect venue for all.
A big thank you to all those who so generously helped with our raffle – Annie Joseph, Sue Halestrap, Merran Hunter, Patsy Shannon and of course Judy Robinson who always manages to encourage everyone into ticket buying on the day! The success of the raffle resulted in $500 being donated to Mary Ward International Australia because as we all know, social justice matters.
It was wonderful to have so many age groups and Loreto Schools represented from across the country plus of course Canada. This is what makes the Canberra lunch unique and is a truly wonderful tradition to continue. Please mark your calendars tentatively now for 2019 as we expect our annual lunch will be either Saturday 16 or Saturday 23 March 2019. As you are aware, I am hoping to pass the torch to a new and refreshed cohort next time around so once that is finalised we will be in touch.
Finally, a very big thank you to all of you who attended, read at mass, helped on the day, made the effort to bring along a friend, daughter, mother or sister and to those of you who made phone calls, posted on Facebook and sent emails. As you could see by the large turnout, the success of the day was the result of everyone’s effort!
